Box 1326, Phenix City, AL 36868, or fax it to the Chamber at 298-3846. Serving on a committee of your choice gives you an opportunity to be a voice in your Chamber of Commerce. The strengths of these programs come from volunteers who give so generously of their time.
_____ Small Business Focus – This committee addresses the concerns of small businesses located in Phenix City/Russell County and Smiths, AL. Committee meets on the third Tuesday of each month at 8 a. m. at the Chamber
_____ Business Consultants – This group provides professional assistance to businesses at no initial charge to help with specific business problems.
_____Military Affairs – This is a joint committee with the Columbus Chamber. It works with Fort Benning to promote a better understanding of and more interest in Fort Benning's vast economic impact on our region. Meets Quarterly
_____Agri-Business – This committee works with County Extension Service, area farmers, and farm related businesses to encourage the full development and growth of agricultural resources and to promote agricultural business in the region.
_____Tourism Task Force – This task force works closely with the Columbus Convention and Visitors Bureau to inform the traveling public of the attractions, recreation, and events in our area while developing and marketing the tourism industry to encourage economic growth. It also works with the City of Phenix City Parks and Recreation Department to promote and implement area events.
_____Education Task Force – This committee works to support and improve the existing education systems in the area as well as emphasizing career development, literacy, and the training of future leaders. Meets quarterly.
_____Beautification Task Force – This committee works with the city and county as well as other groups to promote a litter free community and encourages area beautification and community pride.
Committees meet on a monthly or quarterly basis. Task Forces meet on an as needed basis.
Chamber Biscuits and Business, our breakfast meeting, is held on the second Wednesday of each month at 7:30 a.m. (except December, there is no meeting in December). It is held at the Central Activity Center in Phenix City, unless otherwise noted.
